Abstract
Introduction: Physiotherapist is the third most numerous medical profession and enjoys the highest trust among medical professions, after paramedics. The profession of physiotherapist was "included" among the professions of public trust thanks to the Act on the profession of physiotherapist adopted on September 25, 2015.Purpose: The aim of the work was to present the profession of physiotherapist as a profession of public trust in Poland and around the world.Materials and methods: Based on a review of current literature and information from the official websites of individual associations of physiothe-rapists, the profession of a physiotherapist was presented (in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Iceland, Bulgaria, Turkey). The origins of rehabilitation date back to the beginnings of humanity. The techniques and methods used when working with a patient for the purpose of improving his treatment have centuries-old traditions. In modern times, when technological progress is given priority, we often forget that all achievements consist of years or even centuries of experience, also in the field of medicine.
