Abstract
Abstract
The use of analogies in science has always been a source of creativity to come to new understandings. Analogical reasoning is applied in science education too as a powerful tool to understand new concepts. In this work we investigate the pedagogical potential of the analogy between the physics of musical instruments and quantum physics concepts including its limitations. We start from standing wave modes in musical instruments to look at quantization and superposition both in classical as in quantum phenomena.
