Photodetectors have attracted extensive research interest owing to their widespread applications. Although perovskite crystals with outstanding optoelectronic properties have proved to be promising candidates for photodetectors, the development is hindered by the instability of perovskite crystals. In this work, we fabricated the photodetector based on high quality Cs2AgBiCl6 crystals. Under 415 nm excitation (0.72 mW cm−2) at voltage of 20 V, the photodetector exhibits good responsivity of 4.45 μA W−1 and detectivity of 2.75 × 108 Jones, respectively. Also, the photodetector shows fast response with rise time 57 ms (
τ
r
) and fall times of 57 ms (
τ
1
) and 832 ms (
τ
2
). Furthermore, the photodetector demonstrates high stability and maintains its good performance even after exposure to vacuum, high temperature and humid conditions.
