Abstract
Abstract
MXene, a family of two-dimensional transition metal carbides/nitrides, is one of the most attractive photothermal materials due to its unique hydrophilicity, tunable surface activity, and outstanding photothermal conversion performance by absorbing near-infrared light or solar light. The integration of MXene into three-dimensional polymer hydrogels opens up new possibilities for developing advanced material platforms. In this review, we summarize the synthesis of MXene-based hydrogels and highlight their recent progress in photothermal applications. Challenges and perspectives for future research are also outlined.
