Abstract The stages of development of smart home systems and integration of these systems into the city infrastructure are considered. The main advantages and disadvantages of these solutions are identified, and problems associated with their installation and use are identified. The research on the volume of markets and target audience is analyzed, and the trends of recent years in the areas of both "smart home" and "smart city in General" are considered. Priority directions of development of the entire field of solutions are indicated. Specific examples of using smart systems in different configurations and with different functions are considered.
