Abstract
An analytical method has been developed for calculating beams lying on a continuous elastic Winkler foundation with a variable coefficient of subgrade resistance. The method is based on the exact solution of the differential equation of beam bending for the case when the bed coefficient is an arbitrary continuous function. In an analytical form, formulas for displacements and internal efforts are obtained. An analytical method for the numerical implementation of the exact solutions found is proposed.
