Abstract
Abstract
The article presents the numerical model which can be applied for the description of the behaviour of a geomatrix mechanically stabilized by a geogrid that reinforces the subsoil. Both stiff loading (geomatrix under building foundation slabs) and susceptible loading (under road embankments) were examined. The selection of parameters was proposed for the analysis based on subsoil tests and data provided by the manufacturers of geosynthetics. The carried out analyses can be used to estimate internal forces in geogrids and their expected deformations. The obtained results can be used as a reference for the development of guidelines for designers of soil reinforcement in terms of boundary problem analysis and design of structures containing geosynthetics.
