Abstract
Abstract
The paper is aimed at reporting the recent findings of studies documenting cell cultures exposure to electromagnetic fields of various origin. Both thermal and non-thermal effects were analysed, highlighting the role of the specific absorption rate as a metric offering a common framework for comparison among different results. The main problems related to electromagnetic field exposure of cell cultures were identified as reporting accurate field magnitude and ensuring suitable environmental conditions for cell cultures in order to guarantee the reproducibility of the experiments.
