Abstract
Abstract
Ethanol is a promising alternative fuel, due to its renewable origin based on biomass. Also, it has a lower carbon content than the diesel fuel, which contains oxygen. For this reason, ethanol provides a remarkable potential for particulate reduction in diesel engines. One-dimensional simulation of a single-cylinder diesel engine with the help of the GT-Power software has been done. The simulation is designed to test the characteristics of the ethanol-filled diesel engine at full load. The obtained results were compared with pure diesel fuel.
