Abstract
Abstract
Ultrasonication is a very convenient method for the preparation of various dispersions. However, it is often not clear what influence the ultrasonication procedure is on the purity of the prepared dispersion. In this paper, we show that the prolonged ultrasonication of the pure water results in dispersion formation. We characterized the nanoparticles in the resulted dispersion by the TEM, DLS, conductivity, and zeta potential measurements. This work points to the possible source of contamination of the sonicated dispersions.
