Abstract
The possibility of energetic activation of the processes of abrasive diamond metal processing is considered. Emphasis is placed on thermal activation of coolants and lubricants and on electrical activation of the grinding zone. It is shown that under certain conditions, the external energy supply can significantly improve the performance of abrasive-diamond processing. The role of the electrode potential during electrical activation is disclosed. Physical aspects of energetic activation are discussed. The prospects of other schemes of electric activation are demonstrated.
