Abstract The damage accumulation kinetics in plastic (metals) and brittle materials (concrete) at the stages of fracture formation and development under cyclic loading is considered. The regularities of damage accumulation at microlevels due to structural and strain heterogeneity with the achievement of the limit state – the formation of micro-cracks are shownThe early formation curves of micro- and macro-fractures on the fatigue curves, the areas of dispersed fracture formation and development are determined.
