A numerical study of the influence of the anisotropic properties of soils on the stress-strain state of the foundation slab of an apartment building is carried out in the paper. A transversely isotropic base with the assumption of obeying the laws of a continuous linearly deformable anisotropic medium is accepted as a model of a soil base. The analysis of deformations, stresses and the necessary reinforcement in the sections of the foundation slab is performed. It is concluded that it is necessary to take into account the anisotropic properties of soils when calculating the building-structure system.
