Energy methods for calculating the combustion process, based on determining the rate of fuel burn-out using experimental coefficients and allowing to obtain, at best, a calculated indicator diagram of the pressure in the engine cylinder, have gained a certain popularity. However, the composition and thermodynamic parameters of the combustion products are not determined. The paper presents thermodynamic calculations of the combustion process, which also allow determining the equilibrium composition of combustion products for any given conditions (mixture composition, fuel composition, temperature and pressure), taking into account dissociation. The calculation of equilibrium concentrations makes it possible to assess the influence of certain factors on the composition of combustion products. m=1 structure is taken as a basis, with additions that allow performing calculations for fuels of the elementary composition C+H+O+N=1. Elementary composition for methanol: C=0.375; H=0.125; O=0.5; N=0.
