Abstract
Synopsis
The interaction of organic molecules with metal surfaces induces drastic changes in the electronic structure of the adsorbate. In particular, properties such as the energy and the lifetime of anionic states are strongly modified. Decay into the metal continuum must be considered in the electron dynamics, since in many cases it dominates over the decay through the vacuum. We present a generalized methodology to study this kind of systems in order to obtain the energy of the states, as well as their lifetime and decay paths.
