Abstract
Abstract
Xinjiang is the largest cotton-producing region in China, and mechanized cotton picking can reduce labor costs and improve production efficiency. The function of the spindle of the key parts of the cotton picker has a great influence on the picking rate and net rate of cotton. The wear of cotton picking will seriously hinder the process of cotton picking. Molybdenum disulfide, as a coating, can give it excellent wear and corrosion resistance. By analyzing the picking mechanism and failure mode of the spindle, carburizing, tempering heat treatment (quenching + tempering) and hot coating tests were carried out to realize the surface strengthening of the spindle. The surface properties of spindle specimens without superheat treatment and after carburizing and tempering heat treatment and hot coating molybdenum disulfide were compared. Conclusion: After heat treatment and hot coating molybdenum disulfide, the surface hardness and wear resistance of ingot-picking specimens are significantly improved compared with those without thermal treatment.
