The increased traits and qualities that composite materials provide in comparison to those of single materials have led to their widespread use across a variety of modern sectors (metals). In recent years, there has been a rise in the demand for high-performance aluminum metal matrix composites. This is mostly due to the improved mechanical characteristics of these composites, which are necessary for fulfilling the needs of sophisticated engineering applications. The mix of different types of reinforcing materials has a significant impact on the performance of these composites. With a tensile strength that is equivalent to that of certain steels, aluminum 7068 is one of the strongest aluminum alloys that are now available for purchase on the market. Heat treatment may be performed on this material, which is an aerospace alloy by another name. This project’s primary objective is to improve the mechanical properties of aluminum 7068 by incorporating three distinct compositions—silicon carbide (SiC), boron carbide (B4C), and titanium dioxide (TiO2)—into the metal matrix of aluminum 7068 using a process known as stir casting, and then determining the mechanical properties of each individual composition by putting them through a series of mechanical tests. Compositions are compared with one another and with those of unreinforced Al7068 based on the results of the tests, and an effective composition is determined for the purpose of further research.
