Abstract
A brake piston was developed for a new radial plunger motor. Typical brake on/off load cases were verified for these potential applications to avoid potential strength and durability risks. Furthermore, piston structural optimization was done to reduce casting costs. Finally, its thickness was reduced by 19%, and the cost was reduced by 10%. By FEA structural fatigue simulation and optimization method, The design time of piston design was shortened, cost down and product competitiveness was increased.
