Abstract
Abstract
The 6016 aluminum alloy was artificially aged at different aging temperatures and time. The effects of Cu on microstructures, hardness, tensile properties and corrosion resistance of 6016 aluminum alloy were studied. The results show that the grains of the alloy added Cu are refined and new phase Q (AlCuMgSi) appears, and the mechanical properties of the alloy in T4p state are improved and the time to reach the strength peak is shortened. The intergranular corrosion resistance of the alloy decreases with the aging time, and turns to pitting corrosion in the later stage, and it suggests that the intergranular corrosion resistance of 6016 aluminum alloy added Cu is reduced.
