Abstract
Image culture based on local culture is an innovation in the world of education with the use of contextual learning media based on local culture as a source of learning. The purpose of this study was to improve skills teachers in designing image media as a source of learning for elementary school teachers in Sigi District who had implemented the 2013 curriculum. The research method applied was Classroom Action Research (CAR) which referred to Kemmis Mctaggart consisting of two cycles and every silkus consists of four stages, namely 1) planning, 2) implementation, 3) observation and 4) reflection. Data collection techniques use analysis Qualitative Observation, interviews, documentation. The results of this study indicate that the application of image media based on local culture as a source of learning in elementary schools can be useful for teachers and in implementing provides an overview of how to implement image media integration as a source of learning local wisdom in SD Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi so as to carry out active and enjoyable learning which can improve student learning outcomes.
