With the development of mobile communication technology, the envelope bandwidth and power peak-to-average ratio of radio frequency signals are gradually increased. However, the power consumption requirements of electronic equipment are difficult to meet by traditional constant voltage power amplifiers. The mode of dynamic voltage supply is adopted by the envelope tracking power amplifier, which can make a good balance between the linearity and efficiency of the power amplifier system. The fundamental of envelope tracking power amplifier is shown in the article. Transistor model is selected to design the power amplifier, ADS and other tool software are used for simulation. The feasibility of envelope tracking technology is verified in improving the efficiency of power amplifier.
