Abstract
Abstract
The Musi River is one of the largest and densest rivers in South Sumatra Province, Indonesia. Various activities are found along the river flow, in the upstream to the estuary, causing the river to be vulnerable for input of macro debris. This research aims to identify the type of material and the size of macro debris found along the river flow to the estuary of the Musi River. The research was carried out by performing macro debris sampling using a net operated with a manta system. This research used 10 stations that represent activities along the flow with tracking lengths as far as 87 km to the estuary. The results showed that the highest numbers of macro debris were found at Station 2 (fisherman settlement) which was is 33 items. The material of macro debris was is dominated by plastic material in all stations, with litter codes food packaging and had have medium size (2.5-10 cm).
