Abstract
To estimate the static voltage stability of the PCC (Points of Common Coupling) of wind/PV (Photovoltaic) in the new energy resources grid-connected system, a modified static voltage stability index NVSI that adds the stochastic wind/PV power to calculate the index values is proposed, based on the IVSI index that is derived from the power flow equations of the traditional power system. A short-term wind/PV power prediction model considering several meteorological factors and using the RF (Random Forest) algorithm is presented. The RF’s prediction accuracy is affirmed by comparing with the BP-ANN algorithm on a typical day, and the predicted wind/PV power values are substituted into the NVSI index to predict and estimate the PCC’s voltage stability in the IEEE 14-bus system with wind/PV, the practicability and effectiveness of the NVSI index are affirmed.
