The influence of variations carbon content on the structure of Na2MnPO4F/C cathode material

Abstract

Abstract The research aims to identify structure of Na2MnPO4F/C as a sodium battery composite material has been successfully synthesized through solid state method with various carbon concetrations 0, 3, 5 and 7 wt% as conductive carbon. The source of carbon comes from citric acid (C6H8O7). The syntesized sample were characterized XRD, SEM-EDX, PSA and FTIR. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) results show that all of samples have formed to monoclinic structure with space group P21/n and signal linked to residual carbon in not detected. The crystal size tends to decreasing with addition of carbon concentrations. The crystal size of Na2MnPO4F with 7 wt % carbon is 137,09 nm. SEM-EDX analysis shows that the higher of carbon concentration the carbon distribution tends to be more homogeneous. Base on particle size analyzers have shown that Na2MnPO4F/C particle size is getting smaller and the particle size distribution tends to be homogeneous along with the increasing of carbon concentration. Identification of the functional group with FTIR obtained Mn-O stretching, PO4 stretching, dan C-C stretching.
