Abstract
Hard tool steel SKD11 had a lot of industrial practical applications because it had super mechanical properties such as wear resistance and toughness. There is a trend to manufacture components with competitive costs. The wear resistance and hardness of the sintered components are insufficient to meet the cutter and dies’ strict requirements. The HIP process can further reduce pore size, quantity, and even distribution of pores of as-sinter blanks. As a result, the higher density, lower porosity, and high hardness of components can be obtained without obvious growing of grain size. After heat-treatment and subzero treatment, hardness increased up to HRC58-61, and wear resistance significantly improved.
