Abstract

Abstract Due to the complexity and harshness of the spline’s working environment, the wear of teeth micro movement is severe, which will most likely lead to coupling failure and reduce the stability of the aerospace transmission system. This paper carries out air pressure 0.1MPa, 0.2MPa, 0.3MPa, 0.4MPa, and 0.5MPa shot peening on the commonly used material, 42CrMoA steel, to improve the wear resistance of the spline to study the wear resistance of the steel under different air pressure. The test results show that increasing the air pressure of shot peening can make the 42CrMoA steel surface residual stress and hardness first increase and then decrease, the depth of the hardened layer increases, wear resistance is improved, the wear mechanism from adhesive wear to abrasive wear.
