Planning of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) route is vital for quality of the image acquisition and the safety of UAVs in the inspection of overhead lines (OHLs). However, the influence of the electrical field generated by OHLs on the UAV inspection route was not taken into consideration in previous efforts. In this paper, an optimal route planning method is proposed to avoid UAVs flying too close to OHLs. The results in simulation shows that the UAV keep safe distance with the OHLs.
