Abstract
Many domestic traffic accidents are caused by high-temperature friction of truck’s brake drum resulting in failure of brake system. Therefore, it is the key to solve the problem of decline on brake drum performance caused by temperature. The following schemes are mainly adopted: improving brake structure and friction materials, adding auxiliary brake devices, and installing cooling devices for brake system. This paper summarizes the structure and characteristics of most intelligent cooling devices for brake system in China. In addition, based on these intelligent cooling devices, the paper also puts forward new intelligent cooling devices for truck’s brake system. The system uses sensors to analyze the temperature state of the brake drum. According to the analysis results, the central controller innovatively combines air pump and water pump to transform low-pressure water into high-pressure water, and then sprays and cools the brake drum through the water pipes and arc spray devices to ensure the normal operation of the brake system.
