In this paper, we present a new method with quaternion wavelet transform (QWT) to suppress the random noise of multi-component seismic data simultaneously. The proposed method could preserve the vector nature of the wavefield compared with the traditional wavelet threshold denoising approaches. Artificial data are used to test the new method’s performance. The experimental results show that QWT gets higher SNRs and better preserves weak reflecting energy.
