The Strain State Analysis of 4-component Borehole Strainmeter Observations in Sichuan-Yunnan Region

Abstract

Abstract Analysis of nearly a decade of crustal strain changes state after the Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake by using 4-component borehole strain observation data, and combined with the tectonic stress field, this paper studied the regional stress and strain variation characteristics and dynamics. The results show that the main compressive strain direction of the 4-component borehole strain observation is approximately the same as that of tectonic stress field. However, there are also some regional inconsistencies, which should be related to regional structural features.
