Abstract
Abstract
In this work, a series of silica glass photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) were designed through implementation of a numerical method [1] based on an experimental model that allows the calculation of chromatic dispersion from two structural parameters of the PCFs. Then, the PCFs were fabricated by stretching a structured preform using a calculated preliminary design. Some characterization techniques were implemented with the aim to find the PCF structural and optical properties. Finally, the developed PCFs were used for supercontinuum generation.
