Design and Optimization of Pneumatic Separation Device for Plastic Evidence in Fire and Explosion Scene

Abstract

Abstract To improve the efficiency of fire investigation, a horizontal pneumatic separator for separating plastic evidence from fire and explosion scenes is designed in this paper. Taking three kinds of material with different densities as separation objects, MATLAB was used to calculate the horizontal displacement of materials under different separation parameters based on the motion equation. A deviation coefficient was put forward to measure the separation effect. The effects of air inlet velocity and air inlet angle on the deviation coefficient of materials with different particle sizes were studied, and the optimal deviation coefficient was determined according to Taguchi methods.
