When goods and commodities are transported from source to market, producers/sellers utilize highways and expressways to reduce travel time and avoid damage to perishable goods. One unavoidable experience is when these people reach the tollgate to pay toll fees for using this convenience, especially during peak hours. In this study, the five factors affecting tollgate entry/exit experience are analyzed. The effects of varying one factor at a time are presented and relevant findings are suggested to improve the vehicular entry/exit experience. Extensive simulation runs show that the main contributors of prolonged queue waiting time and increased server utilization are the heavy arrival rate and slow service times. Results also verify that there is an unbalanced formed queues and server utilization among all active tollgates.
