Abstract
SeTeAg glasses are prepared by melt quenching technique. The (Se80Te20)100-xAg*/PMMA (where x =2, 4, 6, 8 and 10) composites are prepared by solution casting method. The bulk samples are characterized by XRD, DSC and SEM. DSC scan reveals that the prepared samples are composites because both phases show their separated glass transition temperature Tg and melting temperature Tm. Complex impedance spectroscopy is used to carry out the electrical measurements in the frequency range 10 Hz to 100 KHz. Frequency dependent of the real and imaginary parts of the impedance plotted in the complex plane, were used to calculate the conductivity of different compositions of (Se80Te20)100-xAg/PMMA composites. It has been observed that the room temperature conductivity of the composite increases with increase in Ag content form 1.31×10-5 to 1.15×10-4
(Q. cm)1, while their corresponding activation energies are decreasing. It has also been concluded that conduction is thermally activated with single activation energy.
