In multichannel systems, four wave mixing (FWM) is a conspicuous and significant performance degrading element. Optimized modulation formats are necessary to decrease FWM effects and boost the data rate supportability of multichannel systems. By combining 3-D and 2-D orthogonal modulation formats, multichannel system with eight channels and each operating at 10 Gbps is suggested in this paper. Polarization shift keying is an important modulation that has been examined bay taking Q-factor into consideration at various distances. Furthermore, FWM power is examined and a comparison for 3-D, 2-D, and 1-D modulations at different frequency spacings such as 100 GHz, 50 GHz, and 25 GHz has been established. Because 2-D orthogonal modulation has the least amount of FWM, it is suggested for usage in WDM systems with ultra-dense spacings.
