Abstract
Abstract
To mitigate issues like torque ripple and the accompanying vibration and noise caused by high cogging torque in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs), this research adopts a strategy of employing magnets with unequal thickness in the motor’s design. By integrating Ansys finite element analysis with the Central Composite Design (CCD) methodology for experiments, it gathers critical response data. These data points underpin the development of a second-order response surface regression model for outer rotor PMSMs. Utilizing this model, the research aims to minimize the cogging torque by optimizing the motor’s key structural parameters through Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), finding the optimal parameter set. The results from finite element simulations confirm that this approach significantly reduces cogging torque, achieving effective torque optimization and contributing to smoother motor operation.
