Abstract
With the rapid development of computer technology in recent years, this paper explores the feasibility of applying computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to study the external flow-field of automobile body. The computer numerical solution provides the pressure and velocity distribution of the car body, such as aerodynamic pressure field and velocity field, in order to obtain the information of aerodynamic resistance, aerodynamic lift, aerodynamic lateral force and related torque, which can be further used to guide the design and development of automobile. The comparison between numerical simulation results and experiments shows that CFD plays a strong guiding role in the further development of automobile shape and structure.
