Abstract
Abstract
Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse (NEMP) is highly destructive to mobile communication systems. This paper targets the RF front door of shortwave and ultra-shortwave antennas, simulates the NEMP excitation and coupling effect of two types of antennas (half-loop and whip) based on the CST Microwave Studio platform (CST), and proposes a circuit design for NEMP protection. The protection circuit reduces the transient peak current to less than 5 A in a standard pulsed current injection (PCI) test. The simulation model and the circuit design may be references for the NEMP/HEMP protection of mobile communication systems.
