Abstract
Abstract
Stability problem of an isotropic dielectric plate streamlined by a supersonic gas flow is considered, when the plate is immersed in a longitudinal magnetic field. On the basis of the piston theory, the theory of magnetoelasticity and Maxwell equations, the appropriate formula for aerodynamic pressure is obtained, which can be used as an extension of piston formula. Formula is obtained to calculate the critical speed of flowing stream. On the basis of this formula the influence of magnetic field on the critical speed is studied. The system of non-linear differential equations is obtained, Galerkin method is used and the piston theory aerodynamic model for supersonic flow are employed to obtain the results.
