Abstract
Abstract
Cable trenches and oil-filled equipment areas are prone to electric fires, damaging the power equipment. Fire separation is an effective method to prevent the spread of cable fire and reduce the damage to the power grid. In this paper, the high-temperature resistance and fire safety of new low-carbon inorganic building materials used in transforming stations is tested and evaluated. It is found that the fire separation of floating bead composite geopolymer can meet the requirement that the duration of fire resistance is not less than 3 hours with an electric fire heating curve used in the substation fire protection improvement project. The pore structure characterization and thermogravimetric analysis indicate that the fire-resistive mechanism of the material is that the decomposition of a large amount of dehydrated ettringite at high temperature is the main reason for reducing the unexposed surface temperature rise of the material.
