Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to replace the steel bars and barbed wires in reinforced concrete structures, conduct experiments using steel fiber-reinforced concrete (SFRC), and investigate its failure modes. We conduct the experiments by performing the three-point bending test specified in the EN 14651 standard. Based on an analysis of the results obtained worldwide in recent years, we use SFRC specimens fabricated in the structural laboratory of Chungnam University in South Korea and apply the results from other researchers. The residual stresses of 625 SFRC specimens are analyzed based on the high or low strengths of the fibers and categorized according to fiber content and the aspect ratio of the fibers. The contribution of each condition to the residual flexural strength is discussed based on the results of the residual flexural strength after cracking, and it is suggested that more research and calculations are needed for high-strength steel fibers.
