Abstract

Abstract Integration makes science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) as the choice of learning design that is considered most relevant to the demands and progress of the times so that it is applied at various levels of education. There is an urgent need for STEM to attract students to study, especially at the primary level. One way that can be done is to deliver STEM through children’s stories. This paper describes the idea of developing STEM children’s story books for elementary school students. Children’s story books containing STEM can be developed using Educational Design Research (EDR) models and using didactic literary approaches. The development of STEM children’s story books needs to be done by paying attention to the content chosen as STEM content in the story, including science, simple technology, and mathematics; and context as a structure in which stories are built and developed. The implication of this children’s storybook can be an effective alternative source and medium for STEM learning because it is packed with holistic and attractive.
