Abstract
At the present time, where products are more and more often made for a specific customer, the production of such products requires more and more decisions to be made in the shortest possible time. This causes that solutions and methods are sought to support production planning and scheduling in such a dynamic environment of various variables. The problem concerns both the decision support system and the relevant data sets, on the basis of which schedules are generated. The article presents an algorithm related with generating schedules in the production planning system, as well as an application for supporting the process of decision making the purpose of which is choosing the best schedule from the set of available solutions. This is very important from the point of view of “product customization” and intelligent manufacturing.
