Ambiguities in a partial-wave analysis of γ p → π 0 p with truncation in total angular momentum

Abstract

Abstract We address some questions related to the discrete ambiguity problem in a truncated partial-wave analysis in the case when the helicity basis together with truncation in total angular momentum j is employed. As a numerical application, we consider the case j max = 3 / 2 using as input the MAID2007 and SAID multipoles in the γ p → π 0 p channel.
