Abstract
When concentrated on a solid surface, relativistic electron beams, like laser beams, generate a high-temperature dense plasma. The paper discusses how these two energy sources are compatible with the break-even requirements in systems where the spherical target is compressed, the parameters of comparison being the available energy and flux and the different yields characteristic of each system and of the beam plasma coupling.
