In a recent article by Frolov and Chizhonkov [Phys. Scr.
95 065604, (2020)], the authors have claimed that the inequality condition on initial electron density and velocity for plasma to sustain oscillation is incorrect in the book Methods in Nonlinear Plasma Theory by Davidson. The purpose of this note is to show the equivalence of both the inequalities as derived by Davidson and by Frolov et al.
