An innovative treatment of anharmonic and Morse potentials to determine the spectroscopic constants of diatomic molecules

Abstract

Abstract In this work, we develop an operational method to determine the explicit expressions of the spectroscopic constants ω e , ω e x e , ω e y e , and ω e z e of diatomic systems using the solutions of the Schrödinger equation up to the second order of polynomial anharmonic and Morse potentials with the help of the Floquet theorem combined with the resonating average method. As an example, we performed numerical calculations of the above-mentioned constants for H2, LiH, CO, and NO molecules. We present and discuss our results compared to those of other authors available in the literature.
