Abstract
In this paper we report on the development and performance of a cylindrical mirror
analyser electron spectrometer for ion atom collision experiments. A low cost data acquisition
system using Arduino microcontroller has also been developed and tested. We have measured the
Auger emission spectra for various gaseous targets in collision with 1 MeV proton beams. Relative
total Auger emission cross sections have also been measured for N2 molecular target as a
function of incident proton energy. The projectile energy dependence agrees well with earlier
reported measurements.
