Abstract
The propagation of an optical pulse in a nonresonant gain medium with the Raman nonlinearity is studied. A nonlinear integro-differential equation for the envelope of the pulse electric field is derived. The solution of this equation in the form of a superluminal soliton-like pulse is obtained and analyzed.
