Abstract

Abstract Environmental problems and the phenomenon of global warming that occurs raise awareness of the impact of the environment on sustainable development. It is very important to increase awareness and knowledge about the environment. One of them is through an educational approach in Islamic education institutions (Pesantren), through the application of the Eco-Pesantren concept. This study aims to examine the potential for implementing the Eco-Pesantren concept at Dayah Terpadu Inshafuddin, Banda Aceh. The research method is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observations and interviews. The results of the study show that Dayah Terpadu Inshafuddin has implemented several aspects of the Eco-Pesantren concept such as making eco-friendly Pesantren policies and involving students in eco-friendly practices even though it has not been maximized. The implementation of eco-friendly Pesantren can improve the quality of the Islamic environment and encourage environmental management activities that bring social and ecological benefits. Improvements in several aspects will provide a foundation for the implementation of the Eco-Pesantren concept. Through this implementation, Pesantren is expected to contribute an environmental education model to support sustainable development.
